Practice extras settings

The extras settings area allows you to switch features in IRISIRIS Elements Practice Management on and off.

  1. On the cog icon on the top menu, selectSettings, then select Practice Management.

  2. On the Extras tab, use the toggle switch to turn any of the following features on or off, then select Save.

The following extras are available:

Retrieve information from Companies House

Automatically send text messages too clients in your workflows

Turn on Xero integration

View advisory service data for your Xero clients

Add additional information about your services

Add a "Don't ask me again" prompt

Add questions feature to your client portal

Add deadlines feature to your client portal

Enable production dates in your services

Add emojis to any text you enter

Create teams and assign work to groups of users


Retrieve information from Companies House

Allows you to retrieve information from Companies House using the client's company number. The information is displayed on a Companies House tab on the client record. Find out how to view and use Companies House information. It's also used to trigger various jobs based on dates retrieved from Companies House.


Automatically send text messages to clients in your workflows

Allows you to send text messages from IRIS Elements Practice Management. Find out how to send a text / SMS message to your client.


Turn on Xero integration

Turn this feature on to enable the Xero tab on the client record. You can then connect your client's Xero account to IRIS Elements and view an executive summary of their financial data.


View advisory service data for your Xero clients

Once this feature is turned on, you can connect a client's Xero account to IRIS Elements to view an executive summary of their financial data. This data is regularly extracted and displayed on the Advisory tab on the client record so that you can keep an eye on any changes and advise your client accordingly.


Add additional information about your services

Allows you to add additional information about your services. Once enabled, you can populate an engagement letter with sales terms or a sales description of the service. You can also specify set up, monthly, and annual service fees using these fields which can be included in letters or emails using field placeholders.


Add a "Don't ask me again" prompt

When using IRIS Elements Practice Management, there are some messages that are shown asking if you are sure you want to do certain things. You can add a Don't ask me again option so that individual users can choose to no longer receive these messages.

This is currently available for the following messages:

  • Mark this task as completed?

  • Mark this task as already done?

  • Mark this task as not completed?


Add questions feature to your client portal

This feature enables your clients to ask questions via the client portal. Questions asked are then shown in a Q&A tab on the client record. Refer to Use the client portal Q&A feature.


Add the deadline feature to your client portal

Once enabled you can set deadlines to tasks you have assigned to your client.


Show document folders in your client portal

This feature allows you to show the document folders you have created in the client record, in the client portal. Find out how to add document folders for individual clients.


Enable production dates in your services

Allows you to set production dates in services and view upcoming work on the Production Board.


Add emojis to any text you enter

Allows you to use emojis in notes, tasks and jobs by using the typeahead feature or the emoji picker. With typeahead you can type a colon followed by the name of an emoji and a dropdown displays for you to choose. The emoji picker appears on formattable text entry screens on the toolbar.


Create teams and assign work to groups of users

Switch on this feature to utilise team functionality so that you can to assign work to groups of users instead of individuals.
