This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2223 or later if your organisation has switched on the New security screens. If it is not switched on or using version 7.0.2103 or earlier, go to Giving View only Access to Document Types .

Security can be changed to limit what users can do with documents.

For example, if your organisation no longer wanted to allow cheque documents to be created, but wanted historic cheque documents to be available in enquires, you would change the document security for each user group to remove the permissions to Post.
