Getting started

Your Ed:gen system consolidates school administration tasks. This section introduces you to your Ed:gen dashboard. Your dashboard displays the components you have to work with in Ed:gen. Tasks you are able to perform with your dashboard include:

• Set up your web browser for Ed:gen.
• Log in and start using Ed:gen.
• Familiarise yourself with the Ed:gen interface.
• Set your display to suit the way you work.
• Produce basic school statistics reports, such as the number of students in each school year.
• Check your timetable.
• Communicate with students in your timetable. Send emails or SMS messages to students in a set or form.
• Check the Daily Bulletin and your school calendar.
• Communicate with other Ed:gen users using the direct messenger function.
• Access the modules you have permission to use.
• Use the wizard bar to access quick action tasks. This saves time opening full modules and also allows those who don't have module access to perform specific tasks, such as take a registration.
