Payroll year end process - IRIS GP Payroll
Step 1: Update your software
You must update your payroll software before printing the P60s and moving to the new year. You should update before sending final submission.

It is important you run the update installer.
Most practices will need to contact their IT provider to install IRIS GP Payroll. The install requires administrator access.
You can complete the year end process, including submitting the final RTI submissions without the update. You must update your payroll software before printing the P60s and moving to the new year.
The IRIS GP Payroll system checks for updates once a day..

Once IRIS GP Payroll finds the legislation-critical update, a message displays informing you of this.

Select Yes to start the download, a progress bar will appear.

To pause or stop, right-click the download icon in the task bar and select the Pause or Stop respectively. A prompt to resume the download appears next time you open IRIS GP Payroll.
Stop removes files already downloaded.
If the download stops before it completes, it resumes the next time you log into IRIS GP Payrollfrom the point it had previously reached.

When the download completes, a message appears in the Windows taskbar to inform you.

When you next openIRIS GP Payroll you areprompted to install the update.
The update needs to run on each installation of IRIS GP Payroll.
Troubleshooting:
System Update Details
After installation the system update, details screen displays the program version and legislation details. To stop this from appearing next time, select ‘Don’t show again’.
You can complete the year end process, including submitting the final RTI submissions without the update. You must update your payroll software before printing the P60s and moving to the new year.
