Authorise a tax agent form

Should you client want you to interact with HMRC on their behalf, outside of just submitting tax returns, they must submit a 64-8 authorisation form.

  1. From the Clients menu, select Clients list.
  2. Change the client list view to either Active clients or a custom view that includes all relevant clients.
  3. Select Actions, then 64-8 Authorisation.
  4. If your IRIS Elements account covers multiple practices, enter the relevant Agent details.
  5. Turn on the relevant Authorisations.
  6. Select Download.

A PDF version of the form is generated. This must be signed by your client then posted to HMRC.

If you have IRIS Elements Practice Management, use the client portal to send the form direct to your client requesting a signature, instead of emailing it.
