Work Patterns overview
The purpose of a work pattern is to ensure the system records holidays and absences When an employee or worker is absent from work. This can be for a variety of reasons. correctly.
Day Patterns
If you normally request holidays in full or half days and all employees work Monday to Friday, you do not need a work pattern.
The system presumes Saturday and Sunday are none working days.
You only require a work pattern if you work anything other than Monday to Friday, such as:

Monday – Thursday

Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Any combination of days or half days less than 5 days Monday to Friday.
Hourly Patterns
Full Time
Requesting holidays in hours (for the whole company) means that everyone will require an hourly work pattern, even if they work Monday – Friday.
Example: Monday 7.5, Tuesday 7.5, Wednesday 7.5, Thursday 7.5, Friday 7.5.
Part Time
If your employee works different hours on different days, consider giving them an hourly working pattern. For example, they may work Monday 5 hours, Tuesday 7.5 hours, Friday 2 hours, or any other combination.
In this instance, the employee's holiday entitlements need to change from days to units of hours. For part-time employees, it is normal for their annual holiday entitlement to be pro-rated to reflect the number of hours/days they work.
Bank holidays cannot be pro-rated. If you need to do this, use the above example of holiday entitlements, including bank holidays.
If you use an hourly work pattern, you must add the holiday entitlement figures, including holidays brought forward, holidays bought and sold, and the holiday total this year in units.
Delete an unused Work Pattern
To delete an unused Work Pattern, first ensure it is not set to any employees (including leavers) and change the name of the Work Pattern to include the word 'DELETE'.
