Non-standard work pattern: add a leave request: holiday, WFH, TOIL, compassionate
This section is for employees who work a non-standard work pattern (e.g., variable hours or days that do not follow a typical Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 schedule). For creating an absence When an employee or worker is absent from work. This can be for a variety of reasons. on a standard work pattern, refer to Add a leave request: standard work pattern.
You cannot select the Half Day Start or Half Day End checkboxes when using a non-standard work pattern.

The steps in this section are based on creating a holiday absence, but you can follow the same process for any type of absence.

Log into IRIS HR Professional.

From Home, select Request Leave.

Alternatively, in the left navigation menu of your home screen, select My Details > Absence > Request.
The Request screen will open.

Enter start and end dates for your holiday (absence) in Date From and Date To.

In the Work Pattern (Hours)/(Days) calendar, enter the number of hours/days of leave you want to take.
The calendar highlights the days you can request an absence for:

You can add increments of 0.5 to 8.

You can only request up to 7 days at a time. To request more than 7 days, create another request or ask your admin to extend the absence duration. You can add increments of 0, 0.5, or 1 day.

Complete the remaining fields using this table as a guide:
Field Description Absence Type (Mandatory) Select the absence type (for example, Holiday) from the dropdown. Absence Reason (Mandatory) Select the absence reason (for example, Authorised Leave) from the dropdown. Comments (optional) Enter additional information about the request. Include Saturday (optional) Select this if you usually work on Saturdays and the holiday (absence) includes a Saturday. Include Sunday (optional) Select this if you usually work on Sundays and the holiday (absence) includes a Sunday. Approver (pre-populated) The name of the person who needs to approve the request (usually your line manager) displays. Send To (pre-populated) The email address of the person who needs to approve the holiday request (usually your line manager) displays. -
Select Send to send your request to your approver.

A confirmation message will display.

Your request will display as Pending on your homepage and in the Absence tab.

You will receive an email notification when your request is approved or declined.
