Add attendance categories
Attendance categories and types are used to record the different reasons that an employee may be away from work. For example, an Appointments attendance category, could have attendance types of Dentist, Doctor and Hospital. This enables detailed absence recording and reporting. You can create as many new categories as needed.
Each category has a set of properties which determine how the category behaves and where in the system it will appear. A minimum attendance property of Absent is required and at least one attendance type must be selected. This ensures that the Leave Category and Leave Type fields are visible on the Absence page.

Look at theCalendars and Time section, then Attendance Categories. Any previously created categories are listed.

At the end of the Categories list, click Add Category.

Enter the Category name (50 characters maximum).

Select the Colour to be used for this category when displayed in the Absence Planner.

Click Save.
