Add attendance types

Attendance categories and types are used to record the different reasons that an employee may be away from work. For example, an Appointments attendance category, could have attendance types of Dentist, Doctor and Hospital. This enables more detailed absence recording and reporting.

  1. Go to Admin.

  2. Look at the Calendars and Time section , then select Attendance Categories.

  3. The existing category properties and associated types/reasons are displayed. From the Categories list, select the required category. For more, refer to Assign properties to an attendance category.

  4. From the bottom of the Associated Types/Reasons section, click Add New Type.

     

  5. In the Type field, enter a name for the attendance type (maximum 50 characters).

     

  6. Select In Use to make the category available for use (selected by default).

  7. Select Save.

    The attendance type is then available for employees to select on the Absence screen when they select the appropriate attendance category (depending on the category properties set)
