After successfully migrating Taxfiler data

Once you've migrated your data into IRIS Elements, you'll need to check some data and enter a few details before you can submit tax returns or accounts.

• Check if you need to cancel your Taxfiler subscription by logging into Taxfiler.

• Subscribe to IRIS Elements Tax and Accounts (opens in a new tab) - if you haven't already, change your trial account to a full subscription - you won't be able to submit any tax returns or accounts in a trial version of Elements.

• Understand sole trade client types in IRIS Elements - sole trade client records are handled a little differently in Elements than they were in Taxfiler. It's important to understand these differences to avoid any confusion.

• Check your migrated data - make sure that the clients you expect to see are listed in IRIS Elements. Also check the accounts and tax widgets on the home page are populated with your Taxfiler data.

• Check your practice details - the migration process transfers any practice details stored in Taxfiler, but you can check and add any missing practice details, such as your practice address, email address, bank details, etc.

• Set up your online filing credentials and passwords - so that you can submit returns and accounts to HMRC and Companies House.

• Invite other users to the platform - now that you've migrated, you can add other users in your practice so that they can start using IRIS Elements.
