Linking to a Management Information System (MIS)
If your organisation uses SIMS, Integris, ScholarPack, or Progresso, then you can set up an MIS Link between your Management Information System (MIS) and IRIS ParentMail, which activates automatic overnight syncing between your MIS and IRIS ParentMail (depending on your settings).
The link only works one way, so any changes made in IRIS ParentMail are not automatically copied across to your MIS. You need to regularly check any changes made in IRIS ParentMail to review any changes that also need to be made in your MIS. Run the Verified User Changes Report, which can be accessed from Your Alerts on the Overview page. For more information, go to Run Verified User Changes Report.
The MIS Link does not update contact information (email address and mobile numbers) for a person Connected to IRIS ParentMail as they have confirmed their contact details at the time of registration. Changes to contact information (email address and mobile numbers) must be made manually by the organisation (pending approval from the person within 7 days of when the change was made or the details are not changed) or by the person themselves within the app or online portal.
Test MIS Autolink
To check that your Management Information System (MIS) autolink is working correctly, you can do the following checks:
MIS Auto Link is Activated
- From IRIS ParentMail, select Overview.
-
In Your Applications, two MIS Link icons are displayed.
MIS Auto Link — If greyed out, the MIS Link is not activated. If Enabled is switched on then the link is active.
Last Imported — If MIS Auto Link is Enabled, the date and time is displayed to confirm when the MIS Link last synchronised with IRIS ParentMail.
Check Import Details
- Select Imports > Imports.
-
If your MIS Link is set up, a list of imports is displayed as Autolink/Cloudlink with a date and time, which details when the MIS was last synchronised with IRIS ParentMail.
If you have only made a change within your MIS today, updates are automatically synchronised overnight. Check Imports > Imports the next day to check if the data has been imported.
MIS Link Not Set Up or Activated
Select Settings > MIS Link. If Disable Autolink is not displayed, an autolink has not been set up an activated.
If you have the Integris, ScholarPack, or Progresso MIS Link set up and there is an error message displayed, send the details to our support team by log a support ticket (a Service Cloud account is required) or select Live Chat to contact the Technical Support Team.
MIS Link Set Up the Same Day
SIMS — If you need help with your SIMS Autolink, go to Troubleshoot SIMS Link.
If you are unable to view the details of a new import and you still cannot find a solution, log a support ticket (a Service Cloud account is required) or select Live Chat to contact the Technical Support Team. The log file is likely to be located here (C:\logs\parentmailreportexporter).
Integris— Remember, the MIS Link takes 24 hours to authenticate. Check Imports > Imports the day after the link is set up to check the data has synced.
