Viewing Sales Transactions

Some Of the nominals and ledgers used in this topic may be different to those in your chart of accounts.

Payments that have been entered into IRIS Financials are referred to as transactions that are then linked to an account. Sales Transactions linked to a customer can be accessed via the customer's sales account or by running a detail or document enquiry.

Transactions are viewed in a Document Enquiry or Detail Enquiry, where they can be edited, allocated, or cancelled. For more information, please see Amending a Posted Document Using a Change Document, and Allocating and Unallocating Documents.

Accessing Sales Transactions from the Customer Account

To find all sales transactions relating to a particular customer, these can be accessed via the customer's sales account.

  1. Select Maintenance, then select Accounts from the menu.
  2. The Select a ledger dialog is displayed. Double-select to select the required sales accounts ledger. In the following example, AST_SALES - AST Sales Accounts (where AST represents the location code of the ledger) has been selected.
  3. The Account Maintenance window is displayed. Select the customer account for which you want to view sales transactions from the left-hand panel, then select LINKS.
  4. The Links panel is displayed on the right-hand side of the window. In the Details panel, select Details.

  5. The Detail Enquiry window is displayed. All the sales transactions linked to the customer account are listed and can be copied, edited, or allocated. For more information, please see Detail Enquiry Functions.

Accessing Sales Transactions Using a Detail Enquiry

To find all or specific sales transactions relating to a particular nominal, ledger, or sales account, run a Detail Enquiry. For more information, please see Running a Detail Enquiry.

  1. Select Enquiries, then select Detail Enquiry from the menu.
  2. The Detail Enquiry Criteria window is displayed. Select the required details for the transactions you want to view, then select OK. For more information, please see Running a Detail Enquiry.
  3. The Detail Enquiry window is displayed. All the transactions that meet the criteria selected in the Detail Enquiry Criteria window are listed and can be copied, edited, or allocated. For more information, please see Detail Enquiry Functions.

Accessing Sales Transactions Using a Document Enquiry

To find transactions or a specific sales transaction document type relating to all customers, run a Document Enquiry. For more information, please see Running a Document Enquiry.

  1. Select Enquiries, then select Document Enquiry from the menu.
  2. The Document Enquiry Criteria window is displayed. Select the required details for the transactions you want to view, then select OK. For more information, please see Running a Document Enquiry.
  3. The Document Enquiry window is displayed. All the transactions that meet the criteria selected in the Document Enquiry Criteria window are listed and can be copied, edited, or cancelled. For more information, please see Document Enquiry Functions.
