Security for IRIS Financials — 2024

This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2223 or later. If using version 7.0.2103 or earlier, these features are not available.

We're excited to announce changes to how permissions are set and managed for the IRIS Financials suite.

What's Changed

A Security management feature has been added to the User Group Maintenance screen, which replaces the security processes previously completed using the Administrator and Distribution modules, and individual settings on maintenance screens for accounts, nominals, ledgers, and so on.

Security can still be managed on maintenance screens, but is now set by User Group rather than using security roles.

The Security feature is now used to: 

• Change user account passwords
• Assign users to groups to control their permissions
• View the user groups who have access and their permissions from specific Maintenance screens
