ID Print Configuration for HID Printers
Before configuring ID Print with your HID printer, you must have installed the correct licence, setup the server, and set up any required log files.
Select the Configuration tab to configure the mapping between IDPoints and printers.
Location - Enter a suitable location name. This can make it simpler to identify multiple IDPoints if further configuration is needed at a later date.
BioStore Field - Choose a BioStore field to be sent to the IDPoint from the drop-down list. The selected field links to data stored in IRIS BioStore, and is used as a unique identifier to unlock print jobs.
Advanced - (This button is only enabled when BioStore ID is selected) The Advanced field option can be used to convert the BioStore ID authentication to a prefixed hex or decimal value. This option is generally for use in multi-site schools, where each site has a separate IRIS BioStore database and would therefore have conflicting IDs unless this option is used.
The prefix used can be 1-9 and A-F for hex values, or 1-9 for decimal values.
The actual data stored in the BioStore ID field is not changed.
Audio Confirmation - Tick this checkbox to enable an audible sound from the IDPoint upon a positive identification of a user.
Rotate Scanner - This option should be used if better identification results are received when using the fingerprint scanner upside down. This may be the case when fingerprints have been enrolled on a scanner configured to use a different orientation.
IDPoint IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway - Enter the network connection settings for the IDPoint in the relevant boxes.
Card Formatting - If cards are to be used with the ID Print system, select either decimal or hexadecimal formatting from the dropdown list.
Select the Update button when you have completed configuration, and repeat the process for all of the IDPoints requiring configuration.
To remove a mapped IDPoint from the list, select the printer and click the Remove button.
Always click Apply once configuration is complete.
