Within the Fees ledger documents can be produced, based upon postings made into the Fees Ledger. For example, if an invoice is posted into the Fees Ledger an invoice document can be produced. Documents can also be produced for credit notes, proformas, payment reminders, statements and VAT receipts.
The format and layout of a document is based upon a template system within the Fees Ledger. As a client's document is produced the presentation and content will be based upon the template setup from within the Fees Documents Options.
Fees Ledger templates come in two formats: Wordpad templates and Microsoft
Word templates. Originally templates were provided in a wordpad style
and these templates are still available to use. The move to Microsoft
Word style templates have been due to customer demand and following the
industry standard. These templates have a number of benefits, including
additional word processor features, documents can be e-mailed, templates
are easier to edit and more.

As each practice may have a preferred look to their Fees documents, Microsoft Word templates can be edited by users to produce bespoke Fees templates. For example, a practice may have a preferred invoice layout that isn't provided as a standard template.
All Fees templates are stored in the template registry. From here new templates can be created and these can amended at a later date. The standard templates issued are example templates and cannot be amended. Click here for the help topic for creating a new Fees template.
The template properties can be amended for user created templates. For example, it is possible to change the template description, context type and logging options. Click here for further information on the template properties.
The tags available for a template is based upon the context type selected. Click here for the help topic on context types or here for a list of available tags.
By using the Bulk Fees documents screen, documents an be produced for postings entered into the Fees Ledger. For example, to produce an invoice document.
The bulk Fees documents allows for multiple documents to be produced in a single run. For example, to produce 100 invoice documents to send to clients.
The quantity of documents produced will be dependant on how many client documents posted fall within the document date range. Clients included on the document run can be filtered by using the selection tab and the additional tab.
To produce one or two documents, it is recommended that the Fees Account display is used.
For users with an AutoMail licence or Practice Management licence Fees Documents can be accessed after they've been produced through bulk Fees documents or Fees Account display. For example, if you'd like to review or amend the narrative entered on an invoice document.
With a Practice Management licence, Fees Word documents can be accessed on each client screen using the Communication tab. Click here for further information for producing documents through the communications tab.
