About API Keys
An API key connects Staffology Payroll to a third-party service through Connected Services, where the third-party service needs a Staffology-generated key to complete the connection.
An API key gives full access to the payroll account. Treat it like a password, and do not share it with anyone.
Generate a key

Select your username or initials.

Select API Keys.

Enter a name for the key, then select Create Key.
To remove a key, select Remove.
Who can manage API keys
Access to the API Keys section depends on the role assigned:
- An Operator cannot view or manage API keys. The API Keys section is not visible to an Operator.
- A Payroll Client - Approver can generate an API key, to connect Staffology Payroll to a third-party service without needing another user to generate one on their behalf.
- Every other role retains its existing access to API keys.
