Setting workflow triggers

When you have created a workflow process, you need to specify how and when the process is triggered. The possible trigger types are listed in this table.

Manual

Users start the workflow process manually (for example, a disciplinary process or a lateness process)

Data

The system automatically starts the workflow process if a user updates certain information (for example, to forward an updated home address to Accounts). This trigger is often used for new starter processes

Schedule

The workflow process only runs for employees who are members of a dynamic group specified in Query Builder, checking at regular intervals whether these employees meet specified criteria

Process

The workflow process is triggered by another workflow process, and the path the workflow process follows can be linked to user decisions and auto decisions
