Turn on multi-factor authentication
You turn on multi-factor authentication (MFA) in your IRIS Identity profile. Your IRIS Elements account is automatically linked to your IRIS Identity profile. This allows you to use the same account to access other IRIS products you are registered for.
Customers making use of the IRIS Elements to Xero integration must have MFA turned on for the accounts used to connect to Xero.
- In IRIS Elements, go to
Your account then My profile.
- Select the Security tab.
- Select Configure Multifactor Authentication.
- You are prompted to verify your account via your user account's email address. Select Send me an email if this is correct or Back to sign in to update your email.
- Enter the six-digit code in the email. If you do not receive the One-time verification code email, check your spam or junk folder for the email sender IRIS Admin <noreply@iris.co.uk>.
- IRIS Identity opens in a new browser tab. You can return to IRIS Elements at any time in the original browser tab.
- Select Manage security methods.
- For your chosen security method, select Set up.
- Choose the appropriate method to confirm your email address again.
- If you choose Okta Verify, you must first download the app onto your mobile device from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
- If you choose Google Authenticator, you must first download the app onto your mobile device from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
- Enter the verification code received.
- Enter your IRIS Elements password.
- Follow the instructions on screen to complete setting up MFA.
- When completed, you can close this tab and return to IRIS Elements. The next time you log in, you will be prompted for username, password, and a verification code from your chosen security method.
