Apple and Google Pay — May 2024
We're excited to announce parents and carers can soon start making payments to your organisation using Apple or Google Pay.
When will our parents and carers get Apple and Google Pay as payment options?
From the 8th May 2024, a new version (4.6.8) of the IRIS ParentMail app will be available from the Apple and Google Play stores, which includes Apple and Google Pay as payment options for parents and carers.
Not all parents and carers who download the new version of the IRIS ParentMail app will have access to Apple and Google Pay immediately, however they should be available by the end of June 2024.
For parents and carers with an American Express (Amex) card connected to their Apple or Google Pay accounts, it is not yet a supported payment method for IRIS ParentMail and cannot be used.
As of May 2024, parents and carers using the IRIS ParentMail account feed on web browsers and other devices cannot use Apple and Google Pay, but we hope we can make this available in the future.
Can we switch off Apple and Google Pay Options?
Like card payments, Apple and Google Pay are default options and cannot be switched off.
What are the transactions fees for Apple and Google Pay?
The fees for Apple and Google Pay transactions are the same as the fees applied for card payments.
Are Apple and Google Pay available for manual orders?
As of May 2024, Apple and Google Pay cannot be used as a payment option for manual orders.
Where can we find details of Apple and Google Pay transactions?
All Apple and Google Pay transactions can be found on the Transactions For Selected Date Range report.
Parents and carers are reporting they have not got Apple and Google Pay options, what can we do?
If parents and carers report Apple and Google Pay options are not displayed, ask them to check they are using version 4.6.8 of the IRIS ParentMail in their app store. If they have downloaded or are using version 4.6.8 or later of the app, log a support ticket (a Service Cloud account is required) with out Support team.
