Add SENCo to Parents' Evenings — Primary Schools

To help you add a Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENCo) to parents' evening events — try our video guide.

The following process for adding Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) staff members to parents' evening events is only suitable for Primary schools.

To set up a SENCo for specific students the Tutor import must be complete.

Download the Class Teacher Report

  1. Go to Reports, then select General Reports.
  2. Run and download the Parents Evening: Class Teacher report.
  3. Open the downloaded Parents Evening: Class Teacher report, then sort or filter the data by student.
  4. For each student a SENCo appointment must be available for, select the row, then fill it with a colour.
  5. Delete all student rows not filled with colour.
  6. Save the report with the same name as the relevant parents evening event.

Add SENCo Staff Member Details

After sorting which students have a SENCo appointment available, the SENCo staff member's details must be added to the report.

  1. Go to Reports, then select General Reports.
  2. Run and download the Staff Export report.
  3. Open the downloaded Staff Export report, then find and copy the relevant SENCo details.
  4. In the Parents Evening: Class Teacher report, for the first student row: 
    1. Select the first cell under TeacherTitle, then paste the copied SENCo details.
    2. Select the first cell under Class and Subject, then enter SENCO.
    3. Highlight the details in TeacherTitle, Class, and Subject, then drag to copy for all student rows.

    If you add the SENCo email address in WorkEmail against each student, the report can be used to email them a list of their appointments.

  5. Save and close the report.
  1. Import the details to IRIS ParentMail.
