Close IRIS Financials Accounts for Bank Accounts

This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2223 or later. If using version 7.0.2103 or earlier, go to Close IRIS Financials Accounts for Bank Accounts.

When a bank account is no longer used or required, the account in IRIS Financials must be closed.

To close or hide an account in IRIS Financials, remove the security permissions for the user groups that no longer require access.

After closing or hiding an account the details are kept for audits and financial reporting, and only administrators or IRIS Financials and users in user groups who still have access can access the details.

To only close or hide the account for specific user groups, change the Accounts security for the user group.

1. Go to Maintenance, then select Accounts.

2. Find and select the required ledger, then the account.
3. Select Security, then EDIT.
4. For each user group that no longer requires access, clear selection of View, Modify, and Post.
5. SAVE the changes.
