How to Import an Asset
To import an asset please follow the steps below:
Please note that you must have an access level higher than issues only.
Please Select:
- Assets on the left hand side navigational panel
- Then select Assets and then Import Assets
- On this page, please select Download Asset Import Spreadsheet - Simple
(The complex spreadsheet will split each asset type up into its own separate sheet and include any additional questions you have set up for your assets)
If you then open the excel asset spreadsheet you will now see all of your assets that are currently on your property.
It is important to remember that the "AssetKey" Column should NOT be edited and when adding a new asset, the AssetKey column should be left blank as the system will generate and store this automatically.
Please note that the Title, Location, Type and Quantity are the mandatory columns for an asset to be imported, however it is advised that you fill in as much information as possible especially if you know the ID number as this will save time in the long run.
Please do not remove the existing rows and instead follow on from the next available row when adding/importing new assets. Your system will not duplicate the existing assets.
Once you've filled in the spreadsheet
- save the excel spreadsheet
- Go back to Assets - Import Assets and scroll to the To Import Your Data section.
- Select Simple Type and then Choose file,
- Once you've selected the file, select Import Asset Data at the bottom right.
Your assets will now be visible within Assets - Assets - All Assets.
