Manage Canvas Integration

Use the Configuration tab in the Curriculum Manager module to set up Canvas integration with Ed:gen.

This feature is only available in Enterprise versions of Ed:gen. The option must also be enabled in Module Settings.

This allows you to synchronise Curriculum Manager into Canvas, to enable the provisioning of Canvas. Canvas is populated with courses, students, classes, etc.

1. Open the Curriculum Manager and select the Configuration tab.
2. Select Manage Canvas Integration from the right hand menu.
3. Select the Configuration tab in the option:


  Two sections are displayed:

• The Test system can be used to test the system.
• The Production system is for the system which is to be used.
4. In Test Configuration:
   1. Enter your Canvas URL, token and account details. This points Ed:gen to the right Canvas server.
   2. Select the cycle that you want to use. For example, use a future cycle for the test system.
   3. Leave the default setting on the Quick Test Import drop-down.
5. In Production Configuration:
   1. Enter your Canvas URL, token and account details. This points Ed:gen to the right Canvas server.
   2. Select the cycle that you want to use. For example, use the current cycle.
   3. Leave the default setting on the Quick Test Import drop-down.
6. Select Save Configuration at the bottom of the screen.
7. Select the Formating tab in the option and use the fields available to customise your integration:


Defaults are available to assist you. Your entries here customises how the sync between Ed:gen and Canvas works.

8. Select Save Formatting at the bottom of the screen.
9. Select the Entities tab in the option and use the fields to choose the entities that are to be synced:


Fields that are not available yet are greyed out. Enrollments relate to students who are enrolled on courses.

10. Select Save Entities at the bottom of the screen.
11. Select the Defaults tab in the option and set the properties for the integration:


The Canvas properties available are those supported by Ed:gen.

12. Select Save Defaults at the bottom of the screen.
13. Select the Schedules tab in the option to select the schedule that is being used in the integration:

14. Select Save Schedules in the header bar.
15. Select the Curriculums tab in the option and select the curriculums being used in the integration:

16. Select Save Curriculums in the header bar.
