Create ID Point Licences

In order to allow an IDPoint to connect to your IRIS BioStore application, you need to create a licence for it. This licence also includes connection information that the IDPoint needs to communicate with your IRIS BioStore server.

In the BioStore application, select the Configuration tab. There will be a list of IDPoints; the total number depends on the amount included in your licence. Select an IDPoint from the list to configure it. Enter all required details, including IP addresses (go to the Configuration help page, then select your printer type). Once you've entered all required details, select Update to update the IDPoint list with your entered details. If you need to configure more than one IDPoint, select the next IDPoint in the list and follow the same process. Once you've configured all the IDPoints you need, select Apply. If the IRIS BioStore application is running, you will need to restart its service (this can be done using the Control tab).

After applying your updated IDPoint configurations, select the Licence tab, and then select Save IDPoint Configuration. From the window that appears, you can save the IDPoint licence to your computer, or to a USB drive. You'll need to use a USB drive to apply the licence to the IDPoint. You can copy the IDPoint licence from your computer to a USB drive; it is not necessary to save it directly.

The IDPoint licence must be saved in the root of the USB drive; do not place it in a folder.

After selecting a location to save the IDPoint licence to, you will be prompted to enter a 4-digit PIN. This protects the licence file from unauthorised use. Enter a suitable 4-digit PIN and select OK. The IDPoint will be saved with the filename idpoint.cfg.

If you've configured more than one IDPoint, you'll get the option to cycle through the available configurations on the IDPoint itself.

Copy the IDPoint licence to a USB drive, if you haven't saved it directly to one. Now you'll need to apply the licence on the IDPoint.
