Connect Evolis Card Printer to ID Manager

Card Printer Configuration

ID Manager can be used to print cards for your users. Some basic templates are included with ID Manager, or you can use IDCard (sold separately) to design your own.

To Setup a card printer in ID Manager follow the below steps:

Make sure you've installed the appropriate drivers for your device before connecting it to the computer.

Install the Primacy print suite from:

https://www.evolis.com/drivers-support/drivers-primacy-card-printer

You will also need a driver for the embedded card reader. This can be downloaded here or at the end of this article.

You can configure a printer to be used by ID Manager by selecting Edit Configuration from ID Manager's login window, or navigating to Tools - Configuration after logging in. In the configuration window, select the Printer button:

After selecting the Printer button, you are presented with the following window:

From here, you can select the card printer (and card reader if one is attached) and/or label printer that you want to use with ID Manager.

Card Printer

Device: This drop-down list offers a list of supported card printers. Select the one that you want to use with ID Manager. You can then open the printer Properties window if you need to check your printer's configuration.

Card Reader: If there is a card reader attached to the printer, select it from this dropdown list. Select whether cards should be read in decimal or hexadecimal format (this option can be changed at any time). Use the Test button to display an entry box which will display a card number (in decimal or hexadecimal as selected) scanned on the reader. If the Printer has been supplied by IRIS BioStore it will include an embedded card reader.

To Setup the Evolis Primacy Card reader, install the drivers and select the following options:

For setting up standalone USB card readers (i.e. readers that are not connected to the printer), use the Tools - Configuration - Card option instead or refer to Set up an Omnikey Card Reader inID Manager.
