Viewing Existing Reports
Once created, there are a wide variety of options for viewing reports. Please select from the following - some links will display in this topic and other links will open a separate topic.
Making Selections
When viewing reports, two types of selection can be made (where available) - either by selecting from a slicer (which appear as a drop-down lists) or by selecting members using the Member Explorer.
Selecting from Slicers/Drop-down Lists
Slicers can be identified by the presence of a triangle adjacent to the heading. Clicking the triangle expands the drop-down list (either a flat, or hierarchical list) showing items that can be selected.
Selecting Members
Where available, clicking certain filters displays the Member Explorer, enabling one or more members to be selected. For more information, please see Using the Member Explorer.
Showing Report Detail
The Show Detail toggle switch enables all the report details to be displayed or hidden.
Updating/Recalculating Data
After you have made changes in your report, whether it is to change a selection, enter a comment or update some data you will need to select the update icon (or press the F9 key), to ensure that your new data is loaded or your changes are written back (depending on the action you performed).
If there are any pending changes to data points or commentary that have not been updated, you will not be able to make any selections from drop-downs or the Member Explorer until the changes have been updated.
Editing Numeric Values
Where a cell in a published report shows a numeric value from your underlying data and it is editable, double-clicking the cell will highlight it with a green border, indicating that the content can be overtyped.
Once edited, the content is highlighted in green to indicate that it is not the original content.
Any amended data is overwritten once the report is updated.
