Overview of Cubes

IRIS Analytics utilises data cubes. A cube is a multidimensional database that is optimised for data warehousing and analysis. Data cubes store small subsection of data from your database for easier handling. The purpose of storing data in this way is to make data extraction incredibly fast.

Instead of looking up data in various tables, data is collected and copied from multiple places, then rolled up and stored in a cube. A cube has dimensions and measures. There will be one cube containing the data from your PSFLIVE IRIS Financials database.
