Import transactions

With Open Banking bank feeds, instead of manual data entry, you can connect IRIS Elements Cashbook directly to you banking accounts, with the account holder's explicit consent. This enables you to receive a real-time and accurate flow of financial data directly into IRIS Elements Cashbook.

  1. Go to Banking > Banks.

  2. Select View/Add for the appropriate bank account.

  3. Set a date range to import using From date and To then select Load Transactions.

  4. Transactions that fall within the dates range are retrieved from the linked bank account and loaded into IRIS Elements Cashbook.

You can also import transaction data from a CSV file.

  1. Matching rules are applied. Transactions that have been automatically matched will display a cog icon next to the label of the Action. Transactions are matched based on system rules first then custom rules in the order they are listed.

  2. From Action select Match to match any transactions that IRIS Elements Cashbook has not been able to auto match.
  3. Choose to Assign the transaction to an existing invoice, purchase or transaction. Alternatively, if the matching item does not exist in IRIS Elements Cashbook select Create to add a new invoice, purchase, expense or transaction.

See Matching transactional data for examples.

You now have the option to assign a payment to multiple invoices or purchases. By selecting more than one invoice or purchase order you’ll be creating a batch payment. If your transaction is greater or less than the selected invoices or purchases, you can adjust the amount you assign to them.

  4. Once all the transactional data has been matched, select Import.

You should carefully review the transactions before you select Import.

When you reconcile, your target bank balance is automatically populated from your bank data.
