For network use the PTP Accounts folder must be shared on the network. Please ensure that the Everyone group has Full Control on both the sharing and security tabs:

  1. Open My Computer.

  2. Go to the PTP Accounts folder.

  3. Right-click on the folder and select Properties.

  4. Select the Sharing tab.

  5. Click Advanced Sharing.

  6. Select the Share this folder option.

  7. Click Permissions.

  8. Ensure that the Everyone group has Full Control.

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click OK.

  11. Go to the Security tab.

  12. Click Edit.

  13. Again ensure that the Everyone group has Full Control.

If the group Everyone is not listed, click Add to add it into the list.

Edit the configuration paths

For network use the internal IRIS paths must point to a network location of the relevant folders (DATA and FORMAT).

These can be set as follows:

  1. Open My Computer and go to the PTP Accounts folder.

  2. Double-click on makettl.exe

  3. In the New Paths section enter the network location for the folders. These can be either a mapped drive (for example, Z:\DATA\, Z:\DATA\ and Z:\FORMAT\) or a UNC path (for example, \\SERVER\IRIS\DATA\, \\SERVER\IRIS\DATA\ and \\SERVER\IRIS\FORMAT\)

In the example above this assumes you use a mapped drive called Z:\ or that the server name is 'Server'.

Reconfigure the workstations

Following a server move, the workstations must be reconfigured to point to the new server.

To do this:

  1. On the workstations click Start.

  2. For Windows 7 and Vista machines, type in the Search box.

  3. For XP machines, click Run.

  4. In the Search box, or Run command type in \\SERVER\SHARE\setup.exe and press enter (assuming your server name is 'Server').

  1. The workstation setup should begin.

  2. You may be prompted to remove any existing workstation components. If so, complete the setup and then re-run setup.exe as above.
