Access to the data entry screens is via the tree view menu shown below and then, where applicable, the list view menus. The tree view menu is made up of two parts: branches and elements. Branches have or
boxes to the left of the name, elements do not. The
symbol indicates a contracted branch (there are more branches and or elements "hanging" from that branch). This changes to the
symbol when the branch has been expanded.
The <Tab> key, shown left, is used to cycle the focus around the screen. IRIS can only focus on one part of the screen; either the tree view (on the left) or one of the list views (on the right). If the keyboard is used in preference to the mouse, the <Tab> key will be needed to in order to be able to edit the client's data.
Using a mouse click once on the or
box to expand or contract the detail within that branch or double-click on the branch name. Click on an element to see its list views or data entry screen.
Using the keyboard the up and down cursor keys will move up and down the tree view. The right-arrow cursor key or the plus key will open a contracted branch (showing ) and the left-arrow key or the minus key will close an expanded branch (showing
). Hit <Return> or <Enter> on an element to see its list view menus or data entry screen. Use the <Tab> key to shift focus to the list view
