This screen is accessed via the Word processor [Details] button on the report output selection screen. Word processor output is not available with facsimile reports such as tax returns.
Select the Word processor from the list:
The ASCII Word processor option is a special option. It produces plain unformatted text (no bold, underlining etc) which is suitable for use with a plain text editor like Windows Notepad. It can be used to create fixed width documents that could be imported into, say, ExcelTM. It is also used to create documents that will be attached to ELS returns. Recommended file extension is .TXT
The two MS Word options are very similar. Both create Rich Text Format (RTF) files. The MS Word 2000 or later version is slightly more advanced and should be used for Word 2000 and later. The other option should be used for Word 95. Recommended file extension .RTF or .DOC
The last two options are largely redundant now. They are DOS word processors with very limited functionality. Bold and underlined formatting will be retained but font variations are not available.
Enter the path for the output file or use the [Browse] button to pick a folder. Make sure that the file name is given an appropriate extension.
Using any option other than the MS Word options will affect the output. It will automatically change the font group to "Draft" to produced a plain looking report on the screen or printer. The MS Word options cannot handle shading, graphics or colour but will not affect the output on screen or printer. |
