Report Output Selection Screen

IRISPTP can send the report to a printer, PDF file, word processor file and the screen all at the same time. There is also an Excel output option for a limited range of Accounts Production reports.

Font group

The font group defines the style that will be applied to the report. It will not be used on facsimile reports. Use the [Group Setup] button to define font groups.

Watermark

Places a pale grey short message across the centre of each page of the report. Use the [Details] button to define the shape, size and text for the watermark and for options to deal with watermark printing problems.

No shading

Tick this box to remove the shading from the report. This reduces the amount of toner used and is particularly useful where a report is to be sent by fax. Facsimile returns will be accepted in this state but it is harder to see the data in the boxes.

Page settings

Will show the paper size and orientation. Use the [Page Setup] button to make changes. Some reports must be printed on A4 paper, tax returns for example.

iXBRL

Sends the report to a iXBRL (Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language) file that is saved as a .htm file extension. Use the Details button to set the path and file name. This option is available for the Enhanced Corporation Tax Computation in IRISPTP Business Tax.

Printer

Sends the report to the selected printer. Use the [Details] button to change the Windows settings or choose a different printer. Hold down the <Ctrl> and <Shift> keys while clicking [Details] to set the advanced options.

Note that even if the output is not sent to the printer, the printer selected will dictate the font options and page margins available for screen output and, to a lesser extent, the presentation of the file sent to word processor or PDF file.

PDF

Sends the report to a PDF (Portable Document Format) file. Use the [Details] button to set the path and file name.

Word processor

Creates a word processor document. This option is not available for facsimile reports such as tax returns. Use the [Details] button to select the word processor and set the path and file name.

Excel

Some Accounts Production reports also have an ExcelTM spreadsheet option. This will automatically open Microsoft Excel and place the report on a worksheet. To work the computer must have a licensed copy of Excel. The [Details] button is used to specify the location of the file, "My Documents" for example.

Screen

Reproduces the report on the screen. The screen representation is close to the actual printed output provided that TrueType fonts have been used in the font group. It is possible to print the report after preview by using the or buttons at the top of the screen preview. Use the <Page Up> and <Page Down> keys to move through the report.

Copies

Prints more copies of the report. Note that this setting is the same as the printer option in Windows to print multiple copies (click the [Details] button beside "Printer" to see the Windows setting).
