Set up the eCentre

Before setting up any new payslip types or configuring the employee data for e-communication, an eCentre must be set up.

The eCentre holds all the mail server information that allows IRIS Payrite to send either payslips, P60s or P11ds via email. The options depend upon the modules purchased.

Set up the eCentre

  1. Go to System Set up > Company > Location of files and tick the Use global email server settings in each payroll. This will configure the same server across all payrolls.

  2. Next, go to the eCentre section of the Company menu and click on the orange + Icon to open the configuration window. Complete the information for the following fields:

    • Description -use this to identify the email server.

    • Sending name – this is the name that appears in the employees email box when an email is received from the system.

    • Sending email address – this is the email address used to send the email to the employee. Please note we would recommend that a shared mailbox be used as any payroll queries may be directed to the email address the employee received their information from.

    • SMTP server name – the mail server address.

    • Server password system – this allows transmissions to be encrypted. Additional options are available in the server password system list. and the advanced settings section to select the encryption type to be used.

  3. Use the Test button to check whether the system is able to email from IRIS Payrite by entering an email address. We recommend testing an internal and external email address. If the system returns with an unsuccessful message you must speak to your IT department regarding access from the mail server.
