Absence codes

Absence codes allow you to identify different types of absence.

You can define as many absence codes as you need and attach them to a payroll component or deduction. This means that absence on that code can be dealt with in the pay run automatically.

You can also set ‘special’ options that flag the absence code as eligible for SSP and OSP, allowing greater flexibility when reporting absence reasons.

Set up individual absence codes for each category of absence in the Absence module - on the Codes menu, click Enter Absence Codes.

Common absences include:

• OSP Half Days

• Holidays

• Jury Service

• Compassionate Leave

• Training Absence

• Unpaid Absence

Sickness is set up already as default, and uses the code s.
