System setup – calculations

This is used create pension schemes, salary sacrifice schemes and set other options that are based around a set of rules.

  1. Set up overtime rate factors (if any) in Calculations > Overtime Rules. If you need to set up more than six overtime rates, you should create any excess rates in Company > Pay Components.

  2. Create pension schemes from the Calculations > Pension Definitions menu option.

  3. If you are operating any salary sacrifice schemes, you can set these up in Calculations > Salary Sacrifice.

  4. If you require any element sets – for example, if you need to calculate auto-enrolment qualifying earnings or need to set up element sets for pensionable pay – use the Calculations > Pay Elements to Use option.

  5. Set up any holiday pay schemes you require (such as 12.07% accrual for casual workers, or 52 week averaging) in Calculations > Holiday Pay Rules.

  6. If the payroll requires Occupational Maternity Pay (OMP) or Occupational Sick Pay (OSP / Company Sick) schemes to be set up, these should be created in Calculations > Company Maternity Pay and Calculations > Company Sick Pay respectively.
