Create a new payroll

For bureau environments, it may be advisable to create ‘Template’ payrolls with the desired basic elements and options set up already, the setup of these can be copied to newly created payrolls which will speed up the process of creating new payrolls. Usually you would set up one template for each pay frequency (monthly, weekly, four-weekly etc) that you process payrolls for.

Create the payroll

  1. Create a new payroll using an empty payroll slot.

  2. Select the desired slot then give the payroll a name and select whether it is to be used as a live payroll or not.

  3. Once the payroll has been created, you have options. If the payroll is very similar in setup, you can select a donor payroll from which to copy the setup across, or alternatively you can set up the payroll completely from scratch.

    • If you are copying the setup of another payroll across, go to Payrolls> Copy One Payroll Setup to Another. From here you can select the elements of the setup that you wish to copy across. Check each applicable setup element, or to copy across all aspects of the payroll setup, click Select All and then OK .

      Please note that when copying the payroll setup, the details in the Company Details screen will also be copied, as these are likely to be different in the new payroll it is advisable to change them as soon as you log in.
