Client/server installation

A Client/Server installation of IRIS Payrite means that the program files and the payroll data files are held in a separate locations. This allows multiple installations of IRIS Payrite that all access the same payroll data.

When service packs or feature releases are available, you must ensure that all machines are updated at the same time.

Create a client/server installation

  1. Go to Help > About IRIS Payrite > Modules. Client Server should be listed. If it isn't, contact your Account Manager or the IRIS Payrite Helpdesk.

  2. Install IRIS Payrite to the desired location. Once complete, double-click IRIS Payrite.exe on your desktop and log in.

  3. Create a blank payrolls list. Click Yes if a message appears.

  4. Log into IRIS Payrite using the default username and password:

    Username: SUPERVISOR

    Password: * (Shift+8)

  1. Create a payroll then exit IRIS Payrite.

  2. Log in to IRIS Payrite Security using the default username and password then go to Security > Data Files > Data Files.

  3. Browse to the directory where the payroll data will be stored. Once the location has been set, name the PAYDATA. IRIS Payrite will create a PAYDATA folder on the selected drive.

  4. Create the e-filing directory by copying the location you've set for PAYDATA and the \IRIS Payrite.EDI. All blank payroll files created at the start of this process are copied to the new location.

  5. When complete, a confirmation message is displayed. Click Yes. The shared location is now accessible the next time you log in.

Map a new PC to existing PAYDATA

Before you start, make sure you have access to IRIS Payrite and a copy of the PAYDATA folder.

  1. Install IRIS Payrite to the desired location then log in to IRIS Payrite Security.

  2. Confirm that you want to create the file then click OK.

  3. Confirm the connection then click OK You will be logged out of IRIS Payrite Security.
