Housekeeping

It is good practice to keep the live payroll at a minimum file size for space and processing speed reasons.

There are several procedures within IRIS Payrite which should be run regularly to keep file sizes at a manageable level.

Ensure a backup has been taken or a copy of the payroll has been made before attempting any housekeeping procedures.

As part of the Year End clear down procedure, there is an option to keep ex-employees on file: their status changes from leaver to archived. These archived individuals, if they continue to be kept from year to year, will start clogging up the files and slowing down the processing. As a housekeeping exercise these should periodically be cleared off.
