How to retrieve a Response from NEST

  1. From the Pension menu, select Retrieve Response.

    • If it is a single file, the next screen shows a success or failure message.

    • If several files are waiting, the Retrieve Response for Pending Submissions screen opens.

    • Two options, Retrieve and Retrieve All display on this screen, allowing you to receive a response from NEST for a single selected file or for all listed files.

  2. Select either Retrieve or Retrieve All. A ‘Retrieving Response from NEST’ progress bar displays. To stop the process, select Cancel.

  3. The Retrieve Files from NEST – File Status screen opens. This screen shows the outcome of the retrieval process and displays one of the following statuses:

    • Success – NEST has validated the file.

      From this screen, you can highlight a row and select View. Selecting View allows you to see successfully enrolled workers with an Employee Code, Surname and NI Number. You can also see the successful contributions schedule file which details the total pension contributions.

    • Partial – displays when the file submission was only partially successful due to failures.

      If the submission was a Partial success, the successfully enrolled workers display on the screen. Select View to see the errors detected. If you view a Partial Contributions Schedule, the value is the sum of all contributions successfully uploaded (this does not include rejected records).

    • Fail – the file submission was unsuccessful *.

    • Not Ready – the response is not ready.

    • No Response Received – displays when cancelling the process before requesting a response.

  4. Select Print when viewing the errors detected (if you require a hard copy).
