Predefined Scores and Shortlisting Criteria
Shortlisting criteria are used to input scores against applications by using defined essential and desirable criteria that sit under key attributes.
Predefined Scores can be selected as the Input type when adding Shortlisting Criteria to a vacancy.
Scores are entered by users that are assigned as either a Lead Panel member or Panel Member.
Only criteria selected to be assessed at application form stage will be included in the initial panel sifting process. Scores assessed at interview can be input later if required, but other forms of assessment and monitoring are often used instead.
You can create Shortlisting Criteria in Settings or in individual vacancy’s. Shortlisting Criteria can also be applied to vacancy templates.
Create descriptive Predefined Scores
Instead of using Score (numerical) or Yes/No scores you can add a range of more descriptive scores. Each score still has a Value to collect a cumulative score for each candidate.
-
Go to Settings > Vacancy Settings > Predefined Scores.
-
Select ADD.
-
Enter a Description, and Save.
-
Select ADD
-
Enter a Label. For example, 'does not meet'.
-
Enter a Value that correlates with the Label. For example '1' for 'does not meet', to indicate it is a low score.
With Score Value, the higher the Value the better matched the candidate is for the vacancy.
-
Repeat steps 4 to 6 for all required scores.
-
Select and drag the scores to reorder them if needed.
On the scoring scale, the score at the top of the list would be displayed first on the left and the label at the bottom of the list would be the last on the right.
-
Select Save.
Create Shortlisting Criteria
-
Go to Settings > Vacancy Settings > Shortlisting Criteria List.
If you have already created a folder and want to add more criteria, you can skip step 2 and 3.
-
Select CREATE FOLDER.
-
Enter a Description, select Structure Level if needed, and SAVE.
-
Select the folder, then CREATE SHORTLISTING CRITERIA.
-
RENAME the list to make it easier to identify.
-
Select ADD CRITERIA.
-
Complete the following areas:
-
Attribute: The area the criteria comes under. For example, experience or qualifications.
Select NEW ATTRIBUTE to add a new attribute. Any new attributes will then be available to select going forwards.
-
Criteria: What you are looking for the candidate to evidence. For example, ability to work as part of a team.
-
Requirement Level: Is the criteria essential or desirable?
-
Input type: What type of scoring do you want to use, you can select from Score (numerical), Yes/No, or any of your predefined scores.
-
If using Score, you will also need to enter a Max Score.
-
-
Level required: The minimum score an candidate needs to achieve to be shortlisted. Leave as 0 if you do not use this.
-
Sourced From: What will be used to demonstrate the knowledge? For example, application form.
Panel Members only have access to the Application Form, unless they are on the interview panel and have permission to provide interview feedback.
-
You can also Import shortlisting criteria as a CVS in the specified formats. Select Import for examples of the formats you can use.
