Spring statement 2024: National Insurance changes

April 2024

As part of the Spring statement, the government has announced changes to employee National Insurance contributions.

Key information:

• The main rate of primary Class 1 National Insurance contributions will be cut by 2%, from 10% to 8%.

• Changes will be in effect from 6 April 2024.

IRIS Cascade Payroll is being updated with the new National Insurance contribution rates.
