Create and manage auto enrolment profiles
Auto enrolment profiles facilitate processing auto enrolment with multiple staging dates and with multiple pension schemes. You can set up any number of profiles to suit your organisation, however if your company structure is straight forward you may only need one profile.
Create an auto enrolment profile
-
Go to Admin > Auto Enrolment > Auto Enrolment Profiles.
-
Click Add a New Profile to access the following screen.
-
Complete the fields as follows:
-
Name - enter a unique name relevant to the organisation or frequency to which it refers e.g. Monthly. This name will be visible in the Auto Enrolment Profile field on the Job and Salary screen and should be easily recognisable to assign the employee to the correct profile.
-
Staging Date - enter the staging date for the company provided by The Pensions Regulator.
-
Re-enrolment Date - enter the re-enrolment date. The re-enrolment date is on every 3-year anniversary of your staging date, plus or minus 3 months.
-
DP/Phasing Period End Date - this is only applicable to employers who provide schemes with defined benefits and can only be used in respect of eligible jobholders who meet certain conditions. The transitional period for schemes with defined benefits allows the employer to choose to delay automatic enrolment (until 30 September 2017). If you think this applies to you, please speak to the pension regulator and your pension provider to confirm.
-
Postponement End Date - enter a date up to three months from your staging date if you are applying/applied a blanket postponement.
-
Opt-in Limit - enter the number of times an employee can opt-in’ within a rolling 12-month period. It limits the self-service user opt-in on their Auto Enrolment screen.
-
PRP Calendar - select the appropriate PRP calendar from the list. If the calendar is not available, you can create this in Admin > Auto Enrolment > Pay Reference Period (PRP) Calendars.
-
Mark an auto enrolment profile as not in use
If a profile is no longer required, you can mark it as not in use.
Clone auto enrolment profiles
The clone function will make an exact copy of the cloned profile and give you the opportunity to rename before saving. This is particularly useful when setting up multiple profiles.
Edit existing auto enrolment profiles
Use Edit Profile to make changes to existing profiles.
