Award Nominations

IRIS Cascade and MyCascade allow employees to nominate each other in Awards.

Awards are created with open and close dates that automatically show and hide the award widget on the home page in MyCascade. If there are no active awards, the award widget does not display.

You set the access to the widget in a Role, meaning you can choose who sees it and who has access to nominate.

When an employee nominates someone, a record is added to the AWARDS NOMINATIONS screen, meaning workflows are triggered and queries / reports built based on that data.

Setting up Awards

Profile and Role access require consideration when looking to use the Award Nominations feature. Here are a few common scenarios you can set up.

  1. Employees access to nominate and see who’s nominated them.

  2. Employees access to nominate and have no access to see who’s nominated them.

  3. Manager access to nominate others.

Set up Profile Access

When nominations are submitted, they appear on a screen called AWARD NOMINATIONS for the employee being nominated.

Access to this screen is set using standard Profile settings. For example, HR Manager can have the screen set to Read-Only, Directly or By Request.

If you want to report on the data, you should set this to Directly for HR Admins.

If you want your employees to see the awards they are getting, then the screen can be set to Read-Only. If no access is needed, hide the screen in the Employee profile.

Set up Role Access

Any user with the System Administration role has default access to the Admin > Employee Engagements > Awards area. All other roles need to have this enabled.

To allow users to be able to see / use the MyCascade widget, they will need access to the following role item:

Admin > Accounts and Security > Roles > select a role e.g. Employee > Activities > Self-Service > Award Nominations.

Creating awards

You create Awards in the Admin > Employee Engagements > Awards section. There is no limit to the number of awards you can create or have active at any one time.

For multiple active awards, consider how they display in IRIS MyCascade.

Nominating employees

A widget appears on the home page when employees have the correct role access and an active award,.

The widget, Award nominations, appears in place of the current Profile check widget.

Select on the Nominate someone button to display the award nominations screen. This screen shows all active awards.

Reporting on awards

When someone nominates an employee, the employee's AWARD NOMINATIONS screen adds a new record.

Using Query Builder and enhanced office reports, you can report on the data.

Triggering workflows

Workflows can also be triggered using the Data trigger event. Select Adding a record, then the AWARD NOMINATIONS screen.
