Documents With Hold Status

Documents can be put on hold if they are either incorrect or incomplete, or might automatically be put on hold if there are issues when posting the document.

The following are common reasons for documents automatically being put on hold:

  • The account entered is not on a ledger linked to the nominal.
  • Documents cannot be posted to the account or nominal.
  • You do not have permission set to post documents to the nominal.
  • The period has been entered in the wrong format, has been closed, or has not been opened yet.

Documents with Hold status should have a reason for being held in a comment. Before moving the document out of hold status and to the books, the issues with it need to be resolved.
