Rename Accounts

This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2223 or later. If using version 7.0.2103 or earlier, go to Renaming Accounts.

If the name of an account is wrong or needs changing, edit the account Title. For accounts where the code is incorrect, an new account must be created and any documents posted to it must be moved to the new account.

To set up a new account and transfer the documents to it:

  1. Create a copy of the existing account, then enter a new Code and same account details as before.
  2. Find the existing account, then select LINKS.
  3. Select Details.
  4. Select CRITERIA.
  5. To include all documents posted to the account, select Periods, then All from the Period Range, then OK.
  6. To move all the documents from one account to another, either: 
  7. After all the documents have been moved, to close the account, remove all security options for all assigned user groups.
  8. SAVE the details.
