Closing/Hiding Sales Accounts

This guidance is only for IRIS Financials Version 7.0.2103 or earlier. If using version 7.0.2223 or later, go to Close Sales Accounts.

There may be occasions when certain accounts within the system where a customer (sales) account is no longer required. You are not able to close the account, but if it is no longer required you can hide the account from users so that it is no longer used. Hidden accounts remain visible to the person within your establishment/organisation who administers your system.

  1. Select Maintenance, then select Accounts from the menu.
  2. The Select a ledger dialog is displayed. Double-select to select SALES - Sales Ledger.
  3. The Account Maintenance window is displayed. Select the required account within the selected ledger from the left-hand panel, then select EDIT.
  4. Select the Security tab, then click Drill (...) in View, Modify, and Post in the security section in turn, as shown in the following graphic. Double-select to select ADMIN_ACCESS from the The Select a role for Account dialog.

  5. When the security role has been changed for all three fields, select SAVE to apply the changes.
  6. An Update complete message is displayed. Select OK to close the message and return to the previous window.
