New keyboard shortcuts in IRIS Financials

Use our new keyboard shortcuts to navigate IRIS Financials and complete your tasks faster. We added these new options to work alongside the existing Document Input shortcut (Ctrl+J).

You can now use the following shortcuts:

Screen Shortcut
Document Input Ctrl+J
Summary Enquiry Ctrl+S
Detail Enquiry Ctrl+E
Document Enquiry Ctrl+D
Ledger List Ctrl+L
Quick Search Ctrl+Q
Account Maintenance Ctrl+M
Trial Balance Ctrl+T
Bank Reconciliation

Ctrl+K

We also added these shortcuts to the tooltips for each function.

Fixes and updates

  • During a Payment Run, you can replace items within a selected group without triggering an error.

  • Tooltips across the application now show you the new keyboard shortcuts.

  • When you change the nominal code in Enquiry reports, you keep your selected Detail Analysis Field (DAF) criteria.

  • When you export a trial balance to Excel, the system formats blank fields as empty cells. This helps you use your formulas more easily.

  • When you delete a user group in your security settings, the system keeps your existing security role descriptions.

Install IRIS Financials Release 2469

If you use IRIS Financials in the cloud, you do not need to install this release. Your system updates automatically.

If you host IRIS Financials on-premise for your organisation, follow the steps below to install the update.

IRIS Financials uses a web service and requires a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificate to encrypt your data. You must install a valid SSL certificate on your server to run Release 2469.

Before you begin

Do not install IRIS Financials using .msi files. You must use the AutoUpdater packages we provide. The AutoUpdater applies the correct certificate settings and updates your database tables automatically.

Update your server environment

Run this package on the machine hosting your IRIS Financials server components (usually your SQL database server).

  • Step 1 of 6: Open the AutoUpdater utility (build 0.11.1 or later).

  • Step 2 of 6: Run the package named ALL_IRIS Financials_Build 2469_SERVER General Release.abp.

  • Step 3 of 6: Fill in all parameter fields.

  • Step 4 of 6: Select the SSL certificate your organisation's IT team advises from the available list. If you do not have one, your IT team must obtain a certificate from a certificate authority.

  • Step 5 of 6: Configure your Open Banking settings. Contact your implementor or Support Desk to get your client secret and client ID.

  • Step 6 of 6: Run the Purchase Security Settings script. This script moves purchasing users to the new security tables.

Update your client environments

Run this package on the local PC or remote desktop machine that accesses IRIS Financials.

  • Step 1 of 3: Open the AutoUpdater utility.

  • Step 2 of 3: Run the package named ALL_IRIS Financials_Build 2469_CLIENT General Release.abp.

  • Step 3 of 3: Enter your server machine name in the SSL certificate field (for example, AAW04.psfcloud.com). You do not need to select the certificate file itself.
