Assets put into trust section (SA900)

Add this section to provide the name and address of any person who made an addition to the trust during the year. If the trust was first created after the start of the financial year, you must include details of the original settlement.

Refer to the HMRC Trust and Estate Tax Return Guide if needed (opens in a new tab).

  1. Select the Data input tab.
  2. Select Add a new section....
  1. Select the Other information tab.
  2. Under Other Details, select Assets put into trust.

    If the section is crossed through, it has already been added to the tax return. To adjust it the existing values, close the window and select the section on the Data Input tab.

  3. You must add a Description of asset together with the Value of asset at the date it was added to the trust or settlement funds.
  4. (Optional) Enter an Additional description.
  5. Select the settlor for this trust.
    1. If a settlor relationship does not exist for this trust, select Set up a new Settlor.

      You are taken to the Relationship tab of the client record to add a new relationship

  1. Select Save changes.
  2. Add other sections to your tax return as required.
