Add attachments to tax returns

You can add attachments to your tax returns (in PDF format) up to a maximum 4MB.

The SA100 return is treated like a a standalone submission and often, HMRC will ignore attachments. Ideally, reference the attachment(s) in the Additional information boxes / white spaces to highlight them to HMRC.

  1. Go to Clients > Client List and find the required client.
  2. From the applicable tax widget on the client dashboard, select the required return.

  3. Select the Data Input tab then Add an attachment.

  4. Select Choose file, open the required file and select Open.

  5. Select Upload.

    If you experience any issues uploading the attachment, this can be due to your browser settings or the interaction between the browser and the computer's operating system. Try uploading the attachment using a different browser.

  6. A preview of the attachment is shown. Enter a Description if required, then select Save changes. You can download the PDF at any point in the future by selecting Save attachment.
  7. If needed, you can delete the attachment by selecting Delete Section.
