4. Authorise IRIS Elements to receive HMRC data

Set up IRIS Elements - Step4 of 5 - Add Companies House and HMRC credentials

This setup is only required if you are taking part in HMRC's Making Tax Digital (MTD) pilot).

To be able to retrieve your quarterly obligations or submit your final submission to HMRC, you must grant permission for IRIS Elements to retrieve data from HMRC. You do this using your government agent services account (ASA).

If you don't have these details, you must create your ASA account first. You need your Government Gateway user ID and password to do this.

  1. Select the Admin settings cog icon.

  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Integrations.
  4. From the MTD for ITSA tile, select Connect.
  5. You are taken to a page on gov.uk to enter your ASA account details. Follow all instructions on screen.
  6. When you've successfully created this and return to IRIS Elements, the MTD for ITSA tile changes to display Connected.
